It’s not a bad time to be a fan of the Alien series, which has been running since the ’70s. Alien: Romulus breathed new life into the sci-fi horror franchise (even if the film crossed a scary line) and first teaser material from a new announcement video from Disney+ is now also introducing the Alien: Earth series for next year. From Star Wars to Marvel: Disney+ Highlights 2025 – Trailer (German) HD
Alien: Earth takes us into the earthly past of extraterrestrial sci-fi horror
In Alien: Earth, a spaceship crashes into Earth, carrying cargo that brings humanity into contact with the most dangerous threat in space. The crash is investigated by a woman named Wendy (Sydney Chandler), who is supported by her synthetic mentor Krish (Timothy Olyphant) and a number of rough-around-the-edges soldiers.
Behind the project from Hulu and FX is the showrunner Noah Hawley, who is known for the thriller anthology Fargo and the surreal superhero format Legion. He recently told Deadline about his Alien series:
It’s really scary to think that it’s moving here among us. I can’t tell you under what circumstances you will see it, but you will see it – and you will lock your doors at night. […] One of the things we know about the element is that the host determines what the creature ultimately is. I wanted to play around with it to make it as scary as it should be.
Other roles include Essie Davis, Alex Lawther, Adarsh Gourav, Kit Young and Sandra Yi Sencindiver as the managing director of the antagonistic mega-corporation Weyland-Yutani, which is working on artificial intelligence at the time.
Does Alien: Earth already have a 2025 release date?
No, the Alien series will sometime in 2025 appear on Hulu and FX in the USA and come to us via Disney+.
Other formats and subsequent seasons announced by the video in question include Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, the 4th season of the cuisine dramedy The Bear, season 2 of Percy Jackson, the 2nd season of the Star Wars series Andor and a new format with Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo.
