Christian Bale solves the crimes of a soldier’s killer with Harry Potter star on Netflix
The horror thriller takes place in 1830 at the US cadet school West Point. Experienced detective Augustus Landor (Bale) is tasked with solving the case of a hanged soldier whose heart has been cut out of his chest. The young officer cadet Edgar Allan Poe (Harry Melling) comes to his aid.
Judging by the trailer, director Scott Cooper (Antlers) shows up deep into the moods of gothic horror which is one of Poe’s favorite literary genres. The setting on the east coast of the USA is cold, gloomy and eerie.
