Elizabeth Olsen takes on the role of Candy Montgomery for the HBO Max series. In the late 70s, she leads an unexcited suburban life in Texas with her husband Pat (Patrick Fugit). One day she meets the teacher Betty (Lily Rabe) at church, with whom she becomes friends. But then the story takes a horrific turn.
After Candy begins an affair with Betty’s husband Allan (Jesse Plemons), the betrayed girl is found brutally murdered one day. Someone killed her with 41 ax blows. Could the inconspicuous Candy actually have committed such a heinous act?

Elizabeth Olsen in Love & Death
Love & Death illuminates a real-life crime that took place in 1980. The series was written by prolific series creator David E. Kelley. In recent years, he has been responsible for numerous gripping series such as Big Little Lies, The Undoing or the Netflix series Anatomy of a Scandal and The Lincoln Lawyer.
Elizabeth Olsen will, however not the only known Marvel face in the series be. The notable cast also includes Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Tom Pelphrey (Iron Fist), Brian d’Arcy James (Hawkeye) and Elizabeth Marvel (Helstrom).
When does the true crime series Love & Death with Elizabeth Olsen start?
In the USA, the crime drama will start on April 27, 2023 on the HBO Max streaming service. The miniseries consists of 7 episodes in total. It is not yet known when and where Love & Death will be shown in Germany.
So while we’re still waiting around here for Elizabeth Olsen’s new series to start, you can stream another film adaptation* of the Candy Montgomery story on Disney+. There you will find the series Candy: Death in Texas with Jessica Biel in the role of the would-be ax murderer.
