Tougher than Cobra Kai: Karate Kid star beat 10,000 competitors
Karate Kid: Legends revolves around young karate genius Li Fong (Ben Wang), who moves from Beijing to New York with his mother after a family tragedy. He struggles with his new surroundings and gets into fights. To help a person from his circle of friends, he signs up for a karate competition.
But as it turns out, he can’t win on his own: he needs the help of Master Han (Jackie Chan), who in turn brings the famous Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) on board.

If you don’t know Ben Wang, you should remember the name, just because of his impressive performance in the casting. This was harder than any Cobra Kai competition. Wang beat out over 10,000 competitors for the role of Li Fong. His martial arts skills were important, but language skills and a deep understanding of the character also apparently played a big role.
When is Karate Kid: Legends coming to cinemas?
However, it will be a while before fans can really see Ben Wang in action. Karate Kid: Legends is due on May 29, 2025 to be released in German cinemas. If you need supplies in the meantime, you can look forward to the Cobra Kai finale in February 2025.
