Many exciting series from Germany await us in 2023 as well. While ZDF is preparing the start of Der Schwarm, Amazon Prime wants the local production German Crime Story: Tied to the international True crime hype connect. It’s about the story of the Hamburg acid barrel killer.
Oliver Masucci, who recently thrilled in films such as Chess Novella and Enfant Terrible, slips into the role of Killer Raik Doorman, who was up to mischief in Hamburg in the 1980s and 1990s. Opposite him is the young homicide detective Nela Langenbeck (Angelina Häntsch), who wants to put a stop to him.

Although German Crime Story is based on real events, some details changed, including the name of the acid barrel killer. While the series uses the name Raik Doorman, you can read in the history books of Lutz Reinstrom. Various places, characters and events were also adapted in the course of the series.
In addition to Masucci and Häntsch, Sylvester Groth (Germany 89), Wolf Danny Homann (The Public Prosecutor), Valentina Sauca (Tracks of Revenge), Thomas Lawinky (Silent Hunt), Nikola Kastner (Dark Woods), Ulrike Willenbacher (Tatort), Bernhard Conrad (Tatort) and Christian Beermann (Charité) to the cast. Filming took place in Leipzig, Munich, Hamburg as well as in Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein.
German Crime Story: Tied up starts on January 13, 2023 on Amazon Prime. The series celebrated its premiere at the Hamburg Film Festival last year.
