Horror fans can look forward to the return of some popular horror franchises in the new cinema year 2023. In addition to Scream 6, Insidious 5 and Saw 10, a cult series is being revived that has been delivering nightmarish horror and gore excesses for over 40 years. We’re talking about Evil Dead or Dance of the Devils.
In a few months, the 5th chapter of the Evil Dead saga will start in cinemas. Now the first teaser trailer for Evil Dead Rise has been released, which has a lot disturbing moments of shock and vicious demon horror promises with a high price in blood.

With Evil Dead Rise, the horror franchise is breaking new ground. Because the 5th film in the series does not tie in with the first three parts, the Evil Dead reboot from 2013 or the Ash vs Evil Dead series. Instead, a new story is told in which the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis its way into one Apartment buildings in Los Angeles finds.
Fans know it’s best not to read from this occult book. And so the residential complex soon becomes a haven of demonic powers for the residents. The new Evil Dead film was written and directed by Lee Cronin, who previously thrilled horror fans with his debut shocker The Hole in the Ground. Unfortunately, there will be no reunion with Evil Dead icon Ash, played by Bruce Campbell. Instead, he’s serving as executive producer alongside Sam Raimi on the horror film that, according to Campbell the scariest movie in the series should be.
When is Evil Dead Rise in cinemas?
The 5th Evil Dead film was originally supposed to appear on the HBO Max streaming service. Luckily for horror fans, that plan has been changed and Evil Dead Rise will now hit the big screen in the US on April 21, 2023. In Germany, the film starts a day earlier, on April 20, 2023in the cinemas.
