10 years later, Kiryu returns to Kamurocho and is confronted with enormous changes. The Yakuza no longer want anything to do with him and Akira is now a ruthless and megalomaniac gangster boss.
The Amazon series is not the first adaptation of the video game series. In addition to the 2007 film adaptation Like a Dragon, directed by Takashi Miike, the 22-part spin-off series Kurohyō: Ryū ga Gotoku Shinshō and the miniseries Like a Dragon Poem of Soul were also produced.
When will Like a Dragon: Yakuza be released on Amazon?
Yakuza fans don’t have to wait long. The Like a Dragon series starts on October 25, 2024 on Amazon Prime Video with the first three episodes. The second half of the six-part first season follows a week later, on November 1, 2024.
