But during the sprint he fell through the still too thin ice. “First with his legs and then forward with his face,” says RTV Utrecht reporter Tessa Beijer. “He really went under. It was a very hard blow, I saw it happen in front of my nose.” It seems that Bert escaped unscathed, apart from some scratches.
