First rain warnings – then comes the summer heat

Heavy rain is expected on Friday evening and Saturday – but at the beginning of next week, heat from Spain is expected to find its way over Sweden.
– The warm air takes aim at Sweden and Scandinavia towards the end of next week. Then we could get high summer heat, says TV4 meteorologist Peter Kondrup.

Rain warnings have been issued for the eastern parts of Central Sweden during Friday evening and until 18:00 on Saturday.

– It is expected to reach up to 70 millimeters from the northern part of Västmanland, Norduppland and almost all the way up to northern Hälsingland, says TV4 Nyheternas meteorologist Peter Kondrup.

Spanish heat on the way

In Spain and France, temperatures of up to 35 degrees are expected over the weekend, a heat that is expected to reach Sweden in a weaker form next week.

– As early as Saturday, high pressure is expected to come in over southern Sweden with up to 24 degrees and sunshine.

Sunday is expected to be an “intermediate day” in terms of weather, while the low pressure and high pressure battle, but at the end of next week between 20 and 25 degrees and mostly sun are expected in the southern half of the country.

High summer heat in its parts

Monday offers partly clear weather and temperatures above 20 degrees in the south, while it will be unsettled in the north. This continues in the middle of the week, before the high pressure from the south finds its way properly over the southern parts of the country.

– It is only next week that the slightly warmer temperature will come in and then we can get high summer heat in places, says Peter Kondrup.
