If you don’t want to wait idly until November for the return of Yellowstone, Netflix has already presented a series that, in its first images, looks like the ideal replacement for the popular neo-western series: Territory is in the starting blocks.
Territory: This is similar to the Netflix series Yellowstone
Beautiful nature, a family business with a controversial succession, a piece of land that many have their eye on: No, we are not talking about the series Yellowstone, which would fit this description just as well, but about Territory. Land ownership, home and legacy play a major role in both stories and Netflix’s latest trick merges western atmosphere with modernitywhen helicopters fly over herds of cattle.

Unlike Yellowstone, Territory is not set in the USA, but in the Northern Territory of Australia. In the inhospitable wilderness of the Outback is one of the largest cattle farms in the world Marianne Station. The model here was the real Anna Creek Station, which is as big as the country of Slovenia.
The Lawson family has been running the cattle business as a dynasty, but now there is no clear heir. Power struggle not only within generations and families, but also with rivals from outside who are trying to gain control over the Billion dollar business Cow barons, desert gangsters, indigenous elders and wealthy mine owners are tightening the noose.
Originally produced under the working title “Desert King,” the creators’ series has just been renamed Territory by Netflix, clearly setting the tone: As in Yellowstone, the land (and the family fate tied to it) is the focus and must be defended at all costs. And by a large cast.
