Börje Salming has landed in his old hometown of Toronto.
A very first picture has been shown of the Swedish hockey icon.
Where the 71-year-old is pushed around in a wheelchair by his immediate family.

It was during the Wednesday that Börje Salming and the family left Swedish soil to fly to Toronto, Canada. The Swedish hockey icon is once again back in his old hometown to receive the great love and support of Canadians.

Start in a wheelchair

A first picture has been published on Börje with his immediate family in his wife Pia Salming and the daughters Bianca Salming and Teresa Salming. In the picture, see it further down, which was posted on Instagram, you can see how the 71-year-old is being pushed around in a wheelchair to facilitate his everyday life in Toronto.

The plan is for the Swedish hockey icon to receive the crowd’s cheers when he will be honored in connection with the Toronto Maple Leafs games on Friday night and Saturday night. One night the Hockey Hall of Fame will pay attention to Börje Salming and the other night the NHL club will pay its own tribute to its favorite Swede.

Tribute to Salming

But the tributes will be decided if Börje’s health allows the great attention and if he is able to get out on the ice or in the stands. If Börje and the family give the thumbs up, love will be allowed to flow freely in Toronto’s home arena Scotiabank Arena.
