Most holidaymakers are expected on the roads to the Veluwe, around Arnhem and Nijmegen and in North Brabant. In 2019, before the corona crisis and the lockdowns, there was a monster traffic jam of 900 kilometers on the Friday before Pentecost. Last Wednesday, before the start of the Ascension weekend, we saw the busiest evening rush of the year, with more than 1120 kilometers of slow-moving traffic. This means that the number of traffic jams around Ascension Day was comparable to that in the time before the corona measures.
