First negotiation completed – that’s how much the rent will be raised next year

According to the Tenants Association, this year’s negotiations have been “record slow” in many areas. But now the first company, Surahammarshus, has reached an agreement in the local rent negotiations.

According to negotiator Johan Kretz at the Tenants’ Association, Surahammarshus has major maintenance needs, while many of the tenants are having a tough time financially.

– It is a difficult equation to solve, but we have landed at a reasonable level where we ensure a functioning administration for the tenants, he says.

According to Kretz, many companies have demanded increases of 10 percent, but several do not want to negotiate a settlement at the same time. Instead, many apply for a review in the Rental Market Committee, which can lead to rents being raised retroactively.
