One person infected with monkeypox has died in Spain. It is the first reported death in Europe, the Reuters news agency said on Twitter. This was confirmed by the country’s health authority on Friday. Also in Brazil, a person infected with monkeypox has died from the infection. These are the first two known deaths outside of Africa.
A few days ago, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified the spread of monkeypox as an international health emergency.
