First look inside the ID Buzz the future Volkswagen electric

The highly anticipated ID. Buzz, the electric version of the venerable Volkswagen combi, will be officially presented on March 9. But the German firm did not wait for this date to entice the public with skilfully distilled images.

A few days ago, the manufacturer published a video showing two ID. Buzz camouflaged pre-series vehicles leaving its factory in Hanover for Barcelona in Spain, where other images have been shared. The opportunity to discover the almost definitive lines of the ID. Buzz whose commercialization was announced in 2017 during the show automotive from Detroit (USA).

Now we discover the passenger compartment of the electric combi through a series of apparently unofficial photos posted on Facebook. They have since been taken down but that hasn’t stopped various sites from relaying them, including Electric Fun. Although partly camouflaged, we notice that the dashboard of the ID. Buzz borrows from theID.4, including the floating screen integrated into the adjustable steering column for driver information and the central infotainment screen.

The general finish, perhaps not definitive, exudes the typical sober atmosphere volkswagen, with a set of fabrics and plastics two-tone. In the back, there is a 2-3/1-3 folding bench seat with a floor retractable to obtain a completely flat trunk. It’s pretty classic and no frills.
