Netflix released the first images and a short trailer for the new Sonic animated series they developed yesterday.
The first short trailer for the Sonic animated series Sonic Prime was shown at the end of the “Netflix Animated Series Preview” video released yesterday.
As we are used to, Sonic the hedgehog is featured in the Sonic Prime trailer placed at the end of the video, showing cuts from productions such as Kung-Fu Panda, My Little Pony, and Jurassic World. Pretty fast and still busy collecting golden orbs.
Sonic animated series expected to air this year
It has been stated that the new Sonic series will be “a high-octane adventure where the fate of a new multiverse is in Sonic’s radiant hands”. But rather than a race to save the Sonic Prime universe, it will be a journey where Sonic will “find himself and face confrontations.”
It would not be wrong to say that Sonic has become one of the favorites of film and TV series producers lately. Sonic 2 has become one of the most successful video game adaptations. Netflix, which has lost a lot of members recently, canceled serious animation projects, including the long-awaited Bone, Roald Dahl’s The Twits, Lauren Faust’s Toil and Trouble.
Time will tell which of the children’s animations will have the opportunity to be broadcast without being cancelled. Netflix Animation Department Head John Derderian states that they want to create a platform where children can watch with their families.
