Who does Robert Downey Jr play in Oppenheimer?
Oppenheimer recaps real events and is described as a mixture of war film and biopic. The plot focuses on the scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and the creation of the first atomic bomb. RDJ embodies the historical figure Lewis Strauss, who was appointed to the US Atomic Energy Agency in 1946. There the politician clashed with Oppenheimer.
So RDJ’s first really big role since Iron Man revolves around war and defense industry and the use of weapons. This time, however, under much more serious signs.
