First horror trailer for the remake of a 102 year old classic

Nosferatu, a symphony of horror, is considered a milestone in horror film history and one of the most important works of German expressionist cinema of the 1920s. The legendary story of the eponymous vampire, loosely based on Bram Stoker’s Dracula, is now being remade as a new film by The Witch maker Robert Eggers. Now there is finally a first teaser trailer which unleashes horror with a dense and nerve-wracking atmosphere in poetic images.

Horror classic reissued: This is what Nosferatu – The Undead is about

In Nosferatu, Count Orlok is a vampire from the Carpathians who causes trouble and falls in love with the beautiful Elle. Driven and tormented by his desire, he visits Elle’s hometown of Wisborg. The official synopsis from Focus Features states:

Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is a gothic tale of a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire who possesses her, causing a horror yet untold.

IT actor Bill Skarsgård takes on the role of Count Orlok in the remake, while Lily-Rose Depp (The Idol) plays Elle. She will be joined by Nicholas Hoult (The Menu), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (The Fall Guy) and Willem Dafoe (Poor Things), among others, in Nosferatu. He plays the counterpart to the vampire hunter Van Helsing from the original Dracula.

When will Nosferatu be in cinemas?

In the USA, Nosferatu will hit cinemas just in time for Christmas, on December 25, 2024. In Germany, the horror remake will hit theaters a week later, on January 2, 2025, into the cinemas.
