Just one year after its announcement at EVO 2022, the new Fatal Fury finally reveals its final name, just to put an end to the rumors, even if there was already no doubt. No, it won’t be the sequel to Garou Mark of the Wolves, the best fighting game ever created, but it will keep a certain following, if only in its visual identity. Fatal Fury City of the Wolves will indeed allow us to rediscover the Terry Bogard and the Rock Howard of 1999. The two characters appear in their look and style of the much-cherished Garou Mark of the Wolves of the NeoGeo era, but the game seems to fit in with the atmosphere of the very first Fatal Fury as well. We indeed see the map of Southtown and hear the voices of other characters, and we already know that a member of Kyokugenryu Karate will be part of the roster.
Otherwise, some gameplay images appeared in this video, showing that SNK has opted for a sketched effect, close to what was done with the 2019 Samurai Shodown. For the engine, it is clear that it is It’s the one from KOF XV that has been reused, but we hope the gameplay will be different from it. Obviously, we are waiting to find out more to be ecstatic, but to see that the Fatal Fury series is making its big comeback, it’s still a great pleasure.
