First epidemic in Germany after 35 years! Zoos, animal parks and children’s farms are closed

First epidemic in Germany after 35 years Zoos animal parks

After foot-and-mouth disease was detected in a herd of buffalos in the German state of Brandenburg, the zoo, animal park and children’s farms in Berlin were closed due to foot-and-mouth disease.

“IT WOULD BE A DISASTER FOR FARMERS”

Henrik Wendorff, President of the Farmers’ Association of the State of Brandenburg, said that if foot-and-mouth disease spreads in the country, it would be a disaster for farmers. “If there is an epidemic in a region, it is quickly taken out of commerce,” Wendorff said. “This has many financial consequences,” he said.
