In Chad, women’s fashion was in the spotlight on Saturday evening March 26. The first edition of Senafet Fashion Week, a 100% female fashion show (stylist and model), was organized by the National Office for the Promotion of Tourism, Crafts and the Arts (ONPTA) in a hotel in the capital city. Objective: to honor the country’s women and female designers.

On the other side of the boxes, Zenaba Ousmane is the oldest of the six designers to participate in the parade. “ It’s a traditional outfit worked with cory and it’s a fabric that represents a mat, because the mat for us also represents a national heritage. “Having traditional outfits is important to her:” We tend to copy the clothes of West Africa, but I would like Chadian fashion to be presented based on something traditional. »
On the catwalk, evening dresses, kimonos and even veils seduce the public. Stylists are asking for more support from the authorities to promote Chadian fashion on international catwalks.
