First Dune 2 trailer shows new characters and dark battle

Welcome back to the desert of Arrakis! After the first pictures from Dune 2 were published last week, we can you present the trailer today. About a year and a half have passed since Dune was released in cinemas. Now the science fiction epic is entering the next round – and it’s going to be very serious and dark.

Is Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) really the chosen one? Can he ride the giant sandworms? And will Survive House Atreides? The first trailer for Dune 2 gives us an exciting insight into the sequel, which was once again staged by star director Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Blade Runner 2049).

The Dune 2 trailer promises a gigantic sci-fi sequel and lots of blockbuster bombast

Already after the trailer it is clear: Dune 2 will be an exciting blockbuster event that will be in stunning images conquered the big screen and made the cinema hall tremble. Stylistically, Villeneuve connects seamlessly to its predecessor. Nevertheless, we can look forward to some innovations, especially with regard to the ensemble.

Dune 2 not only brings back many familiar faces, but also introduces us to some new characters. Below you will find the most important new additions:

Returning from the first part: When will Dune 2 start in cinemas?

Dune 2 takes place on November 3, 2023 in German cinemas. Villeneuve has already hinted that the sequel isn’t the end of the journey. If the second part is successful, the director could imagine expanding the sci-fi epic into a trilogy. Dune 3 would then be based on the Dune Messiah novel.

In addition, there are further expansion plans for the sci-fi series. Dune: The Sisterhood is a spin-off series in the works that will take place many, many years before the events of the first installment. At the center of events are the Order of the Bene Gesserit. It is unclear when the series will appear.
