In April, a majority of the municipal council supported the proposal of a citizens’ council on New Year’s Eve to ban consumer fireworks during New Year’s Eve. To achieve this legally, the General Local Regulation had to be amended, which has now happened. It is now prohibited to “ignite consumer fireworks between 6 p.m. on December 31 and 2 a.m. on January 1 of the following year, with the exception of prank and joke fireworks.” Lighting fireworks was not allowed for the rest of the year.
