– We are moving about 50 guests from hotels in this now. They will be driven out to various conference centers and hotels where they can stay overnight, says communications manager Adam Györki at Tui.
It is at the request of the authorities in the country that the travel company is now doing the evacuation so that the fire brigade and police can work to extinguish the fire.
– It’s going very smoothly, we’ve been preparing during the day, says Adam Györki.
Return tomorrow
The ambition is that it will only be an overnight stay for the Swedish tourists, announces the communications manager.
– The hope is that the guests will be able to return to their hotels during the day tomorrow. But it depends entirely on the development.
Apollo: Very difficult situation
At the same time, another 50 Swedish travelers are being evacuated from all four of Apollo’s hotels in the area.
– The whole thing has gone very quickly, says press officer Martina Krantz to TV4 news.
The tourists are taken to three evacuation sites, one of them a football arena, and they need to stay there until the authorities give the go-ahead, according to Krantz.
– They are asked to stay in their seats and wait for more information.
She continues:
– It is a very troublesome and difficult situation that we do not want to last for long, but it is impossible to say when it will be over.
