FromSoftware’s recently released Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon has already been an impressive success and is one of the biggest Steam game releases of 2023.
This is a new entry in the mecha-focused series and has been a hot topic lately after Armored Core 6 has garnered positive critical and fan response after a hiatus of over a decade. Armored Core 6 shows how hard the developers have worked to reintroduce the series to a whole new audience, despite being in a completely different genre from the one FromSoftware has been famous for over the past few years.
Armored Core 6 is highly appreciated
The popularity of the game shows that Armored Core 6 carries the spirit that Souls-like titles have been previously released. This includes players customizing their robots with different options and strategies. At the same time, players have the opportunity to decorate their robots in various ways. In addition, many people shared how they created a robot according to a certain theme. The game received a lot of attention on Steam, and the number of simultaneous players also drew attention.
150,959 players played the game simultaneously
SteamDB is a database for Valve’s platform, where it provides analytical data and other information about games. These charts include the number of players playing certain games at the same time. Based on this data, Armored Core 6 appears to have a maximum of 150,959 simultaneous players at launch.
While the Armored Core 6’s numbers don’t match the number of simultaneous players of games like Hogwarts Legacy and Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s a pretty impressive figure for Armored Core, a more relatively niche series from FromSoftware. Compared to the launches of other FromSoftware games, Armored Core 6 hit the studio’s second-biggest debut. Armored Core 6’s player count also recently surpassed over the past weekend, reaching 156,171 players, setting a new all-time record.
