Fire truck sprinklers help people cool off during hot summer nights

Brantford firefighters are turning on the sprinkler truck to help people cool off this month.

Hot Summer Nights, a series of free events for families, is making a comeback.

“We look forward to offering these exciting and educational programs to families throughout the city,” said Brantford Fire Chief Todd Binkley. “With the weather heating up, this is the perfect way to cool off and learn about fire safety.”

The fire sprinkler truck and free freezies will be on offer tonight from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at Tutela Park, 160 Erie Ave.

Additional events will take place on Tuesdays from 6 pm to 7:30 pm on the following dates:

  • July 9 — Bridle Path Park, 55 Palomino Dr.
  • July 16 — Centennial Park, 39 Ellenson Dr.
  • July 23 — Devon Down Park, 70 Abigail Ave.
  • July 30 — Warner-Merritt Park, 39 Warner Lane
