Fire on train in Tullinge – about 100 passengers had to be evacuated

The emergency services received an alarm shortly before 7:30 p.m. about a fire in a regional train in Tullinge.

When two rescue forces and management teams arrived, no fire could be found – however, some smoke. No people had to be taken to hospital.

Around 100 people were evacuated

Up to 100 people had to be evacuated from the train.

– Some chose to walk along the tracks, others waited to be transported, says Andreas Blomquist at the rescue center East.

Traffic was stopped on the route, but at 20.20 the emergency services lifted the stop, and informed SJ that the trains could start rolling again.

– We are still at the scene and we currently have a couple of people left who are waiting for a replacement bus that will take them to Gävle, otherwise the trains have started to roll again, says Andreas Blomquist at the rescue service East.
