Fire on SJ train hundreds evacuated

An SJ train has been stopped in Tullinge south of Stockholm after smoke was detected on board, which The Express was the first to report on.

“The driver saw flames”

— The train driver saw flames and stopped the train, says Andreas Blomquistofficer on duty at Södertörn’s fire brigade association, to TT.

About a hundred passengers had to be evacuated. No one was injured.

“Buses will pick them up,” he says Leila Fogelholm at SJ’s press service.

No forecast for traffic

Train traffic is completely suspended and there is currently no forecast as to when it can resume.

“I can only guess that there will be delays,” says Leila Fogelholm.
