    The online store Boozt, headquartered in Malmö, is reducing its permanent workforce by approximately 10 percent, the company writes in a press release.

    The changes are to be implemented during the first quarter of 2025.

    “The financial consequences of this initiative are expected to be net positive,” writes Boozt in the press release.

    CEO and co-founder Hermann Haraldsson explains the move as a way to increase productivity and efficiency and as a result of “an increased use of AI-powered tools throughout the value chain.”

    In addition to Malmö, Boozt has operations abroad, in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Vilnius and Poznan. In total, there are over 1,100 employees according to the company’s website.

    Suspected mafia men arrested in Spain

    Spanish police have arrested three “extremely dangerous” suspected mafia members, wanted in Italy for, among other things, attempted murder, arms smuggling and money laundering.

    According to the police, one of the suspects is the leader of a “dangerous family clan” in the Neapolitan Camorra, the others are his son and his son-in-law. The three were arrested in Marbella.

    The investigation began when the Spanish police found out that the leader, who is suspected of money laundering, had fled from Italy to Spain. He was reportedly tracked to a house in Marbella that he almost never left, according to the police statement.

    The son is accused of attempted murder and weapons smuggling and risks a 30-year prison sentence. The son-in-law, who is accused of drug smuggling and tobacco smuggling, can be sentenced to 20 years in prison.

    The effort was made in collaboration with the Italian police.

    Jeff Bezos’ venture is supposed to shake up the commercial space race.

    The New Glenn rocket is named after the astronaut John Glenn, it is 98 meters high and will be launched from Cape Canaveral on the night of Monday local time.

    “SpaceX for the last few years has been pretty much the only one, so to have a competitor … this is great,” G Scott Hubbard, a retired senior NASA official, told AFP before the launch.

    The idea is that right after launch, when it comes off, Blue origin will try to land on a ship about 100 miles south of the launch site in the Atlantic. It will be Blue Origin’s first attempt at landing in the ocean.
