“Upon arrival, crews found a fire in the bathroom and significant smoke in the corridors,” CKFR said.

School staff confirmed the building was clear and crews quickly doused the fire, cleared smoke from the building and did a search to confirm no one was still inside, CKFR said. There was slight damage to the bathroom and smoke damage on the second floor.

“The swift actions of the staff to evacuate the building and follow up with additional information allowed us to make an effective attack on the fire,” Fire Chief Chris Case said.

Cause of the fire is under investigation, the release added.
