The rescue service has issued a VMA, important message to the public, after it has started to burn in an industry in Lönsboda, in Osby municipality.
A firefighter was injured in connection with the extinguishing, writes the magazine Norra Skåne.
All residents in the area are encouraged to go indoors and close doors, windows and ventilation.
The alarm about the fire came in just before 01.30, the night of Thursday.
– It came in as an automatic alarm but it turned out to be a fully developed fire in an industrial area. There is black smoke in the building and the fire has gone through the roof, says one person at the rescue service to northern Skåne.
In conjunction with the rescue work, a firefighter got on and was injured.
– He was controlled by ambulance personnel and has not been transported away, says an intervention leader at the rescue service to the newspaper.
The fire is not under control and the extinguishing work is expected to last for several hours, he adds. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
