In new attacks on southern Beirut, Israel has bombed a “strategic weapons depot” belonging to Hezbollah, the military’s spokesman says.
In northern Gaza, Hamas’ drone chief has been killed, according to the Israeli military.
“A moment ago, our warplanes struck Hezbollah’s strategic munitions stored in an underground warehouse in the southern suburbs,” writes spokesperson Avichay Adraee on X.
An hour earlier, he had warned civilians in the area to stay away. “You are close to Hezbollah facilities and interests,” Adraee wrote. But it was in the middle of the night, and it is still unclear to what extent there are injuries after the attacks.

The author Gabriela Melinescu has died, aged 82, according to the Romanian Institute of Culture.
Melinescu came to Sweden in 1975 after fleeing the dictatorship in her home country, something she writes about in the autobiographical novel “Mamma som Gud” from 2010.
Melinescu wrote both prose and poetry. Among her best-known works are the childhood narrative “The tree in the wind”, the poetry collection “Light against light” and the novel “Hemma utomlands”, which came out in 2003. In the same year, Melinescu was awarded the De Nio prize.
A car collided with a cyclist in Västerås on Wednesday morning.
The cyclist, who is a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital by ambulance. However, he must be conscious after the accident.
The driver, a 55-year-old man, was fined for not observing the right of way.
The dairy group Arla has made a bid for the Egyptian Arabian Food Industries Company (Domty), the company writes in a press release.
The offer values the company at 183 million dollars, corresponding to close to 2 billion kroner, and would give Arla a majority stake.
Domty is a listed dairy company with around 4,000 employees. Arla writes that the ambition if the bid goes through is to delist the company from the stock exchange, but that the current family of owners should remain as minority owners.
The Middle East and North Africa is Arla’s second largest market after Europe.
Over the weekend, the US Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State warned Israel that they may stop sending military aid to the country, according to the New York Times.
This is if Israel does not allow more humanitarian aid to reach the two million people who remain in Gaza within 30 days.
The warning was sent in a letter to Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Minister of the Israeli Government Department in charge of public diplomacy Ron Dermer.
The letter is the clearest ultimatum so far since the war in Gaza began a year ago, writes Reuters.
The police have dealt with a large number of wildlife accidents during the night in Uppsala county, they write on their website.
Three of the accidents involved wild boar and six accidents involved deer.
A car has driven into the middle barrier on the E6 at the height of the Löddeköpinge traffic area in the direction of Malmö, writes Southern Sweden.

Israel attacked Beirut’s southern suburbs on Wednesday morning, following heavy shelling by Hezbollah on northern Israel overnight.
In northern Gaza, Hamas’ drone chief has been killed, according to the Israeli military.
Black smoke billows between buildings in the Haret Hreik neighborhood after the attack, television images show.
The attack came shortly after the Israeli military issued an immediate evacuation order against the area. One building in the district in particular was singled out and nearby residents were asked to immediately evacuate at least 500 meters from the designated target.

One person has been arrested after an explosion in Gubbängen in southern Stockholm on Tuesday, reports TV4 Nyheterna.
Then a heavy detonation occurred at a gate.

The US government is “concerned” about unconfirmed reports of North Korean soldiers fighting for Russia, Reuters reports.
– This is no longer just about delivering weapons, Zelensky warned this weekend.
If the information is true, it would mark a significant increase in military cooperation between Russia and North Korea, according to Sean Savett, spokesman for the White House National Security Council.
“Such a move would also indicate a new level of desperation for Russia,” Savett said in a statement.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi warned on Sunday that North Korea is sending military personnel to Russia.
– We see an increasing alliance between Russia and regimes such as North Korea. This is no longer just about supplying weapons. It is actually about transferring people from North Korea to the occupying military forces, Zelenskyy said in his evening speech.
About 50 projectiles were fired at northern Israel from Lebanon shortly after midnight, according to Israel’s military.
Some of them were shot down, the military writes on Telegram. It is unclear if anyone was injured.
At the same time, Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon states that they carried out nightly attacks on the city of Safed in northern Israel.

Hard rock guitarist Jake E Lee is being treated in hospital after being shot several times in Las Vegas on Tuesday night.
A representative for Lee confirmed in a statement that he was shot and that he is conscious and “expected to make a full recovery.”
The 67-year-old joined Ozzy Osbourne in 1982 and played with him until 1987. He has also played in several other constellations and visited Sweden Rock in 2014 with his band Red Dragon Cartel.

Four people have drowned, including two small boys, in a boat accident off the Greek island of Kos, the country’s coast guard said late Tuesday. The other two deceased are supposed to be women.
27 people were rescued, one of whom was arrested on suspicion of being a smuggler. The accident must have occurred in mild weather, according to the Greek Coast Guard.
Accidents involving migrants regularly occur off the coast of Greece, one of the main countries for migrants trying to escape poverty or war to enter the EU.
