Police, ambulance and emergency services were called to a fire in an apartment building in Helsingborg at around 1.30pm on Sunday.
– When I arrive at the scene, we have a heavy smoke build-up, says the external commander of the rescue service.
Just over half an hour later, the emergency services stated that the fire was out.
According to the region of Skåne, eight people are affected. Seven of them, four children and three adults, were taken to hospital.
– Of them, two children and two adults have life-threatening injuries, says Jessica Schale from the Skåne region.
The police have escorted ambulances to the hospital.
The rescue operation was disrupted by the public
The police state that the rescue work was made more difficult by the public.
– There are people who get in the way and get in the way. You simply make the rescue work more difficult, which means that we have to work on it and the rescue service has to spend time on removing people instead of more important tasks, says Sara Andersson.
