Fire in aircraft in Denver – passengers fled

The aircraft lifted from the city of Colorado Springs and was on its way to Dallas when it was forced to land at the Denver airport, in the state of Colorado. This after one of the planet’s engines caught fire, reports CNN.

Pictures from the event show how a large black smoke clouds are out of the plane. Dozens of passengers were forced to stand on the wing to the American Airlines plane pending evacuation. Others were seen running from there.

The fire itself was extinguished quickly and no one should have been seriously injured.

Twelve people were taken to hospitals with minor injuries, says a spokesman for the airport in a statement.

The incident takes place just over three weeks after a Delta Air Lines flight crashed and caught fire on a runway in Toronto. No one killed in that accident.
