Fire in a workshop in Funäsdalen in Härjedalen in Jämtland

There is a fire in a workshop in Funäsdalen in Härjedalen municipality.
There are a number of gas cylinders in the building and several have exploded.
– We let the building burn down under controlled conditions, says Björn Nilsson at the rescue service.

The operation began at 08:00. No one is said to have been in the building.

Due to the risk of explosion, the emergency services have set up a safety cordon of 300 metres. Several tubes have exploded.

– There is total damage to the building, says Björn Nilsson, alarm and line operator at the rescue service in Jämtland.

The emergency services are on site with three units. Norwegian rescue services have also assisted but have now gone back across the border.

There is no risk of spread as the building is isolated.

Traffic on the adjacent road is being diverted.
