The cause of the fire in Johannesburg, which has killed 63 people and injured more than 43 so far, is not known yet.
SEARCH FOR OTHER DEATH CONTINUES
Firefighter emergency services spokesman Robert Malaudzi told the BBC that some of the occupants were able to get out.
Malaudzi stated that efforts to reach the bodies of other victims continue in the building, which turned into ashes after the fire.
“We are doing body recovery time and again,” Malaudzi told local broadcaster ENCA.
Reports suggest that residents of the building are mostly immigrants from other African countries.
Mulaudzi noted that the building is a residential area where homeless people live without any lease agreement.
While the fire was largely extinguished, it is stated that around 200 people lived in the building.
