20 of the 82 people injured during the fire that broke out due to fireworks at a wedding hall in Mosul, Iraq, on September 26, killing 114 people, were brought to Turkey for treatment. The Iraqi military plane carrying the wounded landed at Istanbul Airport around 21:00. The injured were sent to a private hospital in Gaziosmanpaşa by ambulance.
Speaking on the subject, Iraqi Istanbul Consul General Muhammed Selman stated that they chose this place because the health sector in Turkey is developed and expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey.
Spokesperson of the Iraqi Ministry of Health, Doctor Ahmed Adnan, stated that the injured received very good treatment here, expressed that they were grateful for the Turkish people to be with them, and thanked the Turkish doctors, nurses and the hospital.
