There is a high risk of fire and a fire ban is in place throughout Stockholm County to prevent fires in forest and land.
The ban applies to fires, barbecuing and fires with, among other things, wood, coal, rice and branches outside cohesive buildings or near forests, the County Administrative Board announces.
The fire ban began to apply on 11 May 2023 and is valid until further notice.
In the event of a fire ban, it is permitted to grill on your own property if the grilling area is designed so that there is no risk of spreading, for example that it is on a fire-proof surface.
It is forbidden to burn with solid fuel outside integrated buildings
Allowed to grill
It is permitted to grill on your own property in a grill or other device for cooking. The device must be designed so that there is no risk of fire spreading, for example by standing on a fire-proof surface. The same applies to restaurants and similar businesses in their own area of operation.
Grilling is permitted at fixed barbecue areas in public areas, which are designed so that the risk of fire spreading is low. A fixed barbecue area means a fire place that is demarcated with non-combustible material (for example, concrete construction or paving stones) and has a wide ground surface with gravel or equivalent around the fire place.
