– We do not know exactly what happened, but we believe that heat from one of the foundry furnaces has ignited the roofing and possibly the construction of the property. We know that we have a fire somewhere on the roof and have been working for several hours to try to locate it, says Daniel Kaissidis, officer on duty at Södertörn’s fire service.
Heavy smoke
The heavy smoke made one first think that it was a real fire in the foundry, but the development of smoke calmed down quite quickly and there is no risk of it spreading.
– Right now it is mostly about smoke development but it has decreased significantly, says Daniel Kaissidis.
Several firefighters on site
There is still no forecast for when the fire is extinguished.
– We have found embers but when you hunt it you do not know how much has been affected. It can be turned off in an hour, but it can also last all night, says Daniel Kaissidis.
There are three stations on site to fight the fire and there is no danger to the public.
