55 people were included in the avalanche on Friday. The persons, who are to be construction workers, were buried under the snow after the avalanche pulled over a construction site in the state of Uttarakhand, near the border with Tibet.
47 of the persons have been rescued from the snow and military doctors have conducted life -saving operations on the seriously injured.
Aviliacs are common in the upper parts of the Himalayas, especially during the winter.
