Fire at nursing home in Ronneby – one person to hospital

The fire started in a patient’s room and the sprinkler system was triggered. The emergency services were alerted at 21:00 and sent to the residence to put out the fire, which had caused heavy smoke.

One person was in the room and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.

– Some of the residents had to be examined after inhaling smoke, says the police’s internal commander Magnus Fagerlund.

Classified as arson

The premises allegedly suffered fire and smoke damage and also damage from the water from the sprinkler system which collected on the first floor and had to be pumped away.

The matter is classified as arson and a report has been drawn up.
