A report by research agency Deloitte states that Van Strien and his successor gave the shares of companies that originated from the university or the UMC to an external company (Hereswint BV). That reported NRC earlier. Their wives each owned 32 percent of the shares of that external company. The other shareholders were a former neighbor and friend of Van Strien, and his sister.
