Knuckle Huck is a competition in which the skier does the trick from the hill of the jumper, not from the jumper itself.

Freestyle calculator Anni Kärävä was a great third in the women’s Knuckle Huck at Aspen’s X Games invitational competition. Kärävä is the first Finnish female freeskier to reach the X Games podium. The Finns’ success in the United States was complemented by a fall outside the national team Juho Saastamoinenwho finished a spectacular third in the Knuckle Huck (hill race).

– After all, there were some exciting places, because there are so few hill tricks to be done during the season, and there isn’t really a good chance for them. It was cool to pull off a couple of tricks and finish third. It was fun sessions and also refreshing to compete in a completely different sport than usual, Kärävä commented in the press release

Kärävä still competes in big air and slope style.

– Knuckle Huck is a competition where the skier does a trick from the hill of the jumper, not from the jumper itself. Creativity and overall impression are valued here. Anni calculated well, first nollie-safety5 (turns 540 degrees) and nollie720. Neither of them are Ann’s best tricks, but they were enough for third place. The medal is the first medal of a Finnish female skier from the X Games, Ski Sport Finland’s freeski head coach Juha Mourujärvi glowed.
