At the Women’s Hill Jumping World Cup in Willingen, a serious situation was seen when Suomen Jenny Rautionaho fell in the first round of his 128.5-meter jump.

Rautionaho fell after coming down and slid to the bottom of the hill. The Finn couldn’t get out on his own. The competition was suspended for a quarter of an hour during treatment procedures. In the end, Rautionaho was carried away from the competition venue on a stretcher.

Sports expert Petter Kukkonen analyze the jump in the Sports Studio. According to Kukkonen, the slope seemed icy and uneven.

– A really nice looking jump with everything in order. When coming down, the skis carry and hit each other, and the athlete is crushed by it. Doesn’t look terribly dangerous in principle, but there’s a speed of 120 kilometers per hour. Even if you hit your knee or head on a slope, it can cause serious things.

Kukkonen hopes that Rautionaho will recover quickly and will be able to prepare for the World Championships in Planica.

Rautionaho, 26, has suffered from several knee injuries in his career.

Rautionaho’s jump was the sixth longest in the first round. of Japan Sara Takanashi stretched the longest slice of the opening round, 137.5 meters.
