Finland’s second NHL defender Esa Lindellin a smile spread on his face as the speech turned to Heiskanen’s performance against the USA. The duo will play as companions in the NHL in Dallas.

– You’re dizzy. Then it is at its best. He is able to take over the game. I’ve seen it up close in a few years, Lindell praised.

Heiskanen was not at his best in the semi-finals against Slovakia. In some assessments, he was ranked as the weakest Finnish player in the morning. On Saturday, however, there was another sound on the clock as Heiskanen shouted to the home crowd.

– Not even the best in the world can be perfect every time. If a professional athlete gets a weaker day, then in the next game he is usually a diamond.

For NHL defenders, Finland’s way of playing eight defenders is unfamiliar or at least less familiar. However, it has been Jukka Jalosen teams a clear strength in value tournaments.

– I think it works. Some have said many times that we have often been at our best in the third installment. It comes precisely because we play with four chains and four pairs of packs. When the guy beeps, we get a small difference in the fast pace of the game.

Heiskanen and Lindell have clocked more than 20 minutes of playing time in both playoffs in Finland. None of the other players have exceeded the 20 minute limit.

Heiskanen’s playing time against Slovakia was 21.43, the highest number of Lions players in the World Cup playoffs since Sebastian Ahon and 2018. Aho played against Switzerland in the semi-finals at 23.40.
