According to the Copernicus climate service, June 2024 was the 12th month in which the global average temperature was 1.5 degrees or higher than in the pre-industrial period between 1850 and 1900.
At the same time, this year’s June has been the warmest June in the history of measurements worldwide. Its global average temperature was 16.66 °C. This is 0.67°C higher than the 1991-2020 average.
In Finland, June was 1.5-3.5 degrees warmer than usual in most of the country.
