Silja Kosonen missed the Finnish record by 90 cents. He threw his record 73.50 in Tammela.

Kosonen has been hit hard since the beginning of the season. In mid-May, he threw 72.81. At that time, Kosonen crossed the 70 meter mark four times.

Kosonen, representing the Turku Sports Association, threw his previous record of 73.43 in June 2021. It is a world record for young people under 20 years old.

In the summer of 2022, Kosonen was seventh in the adult World Championships in Oregon with a result of 70.81 and then fifth in the European Championships in Munich with a result of 69.45.

Today in Tammela’s Tour de Hammer race Suvi Koskinen was second with a result of 70.02. Koskinen’s record was broken in March with 70.41.

Kiira Väänänen was third with a result of 63.27.

SE woman Krista Tervo, who threw 71.86 at her best this season, was not involved in Tammela’s competition.
