At the Tour de Ski, after the Val di Fiemme men’s combined race, the Olympic tracks, Arsi Ruuskanen’s confusing problem and Lauri Vuorinen’s laziness were the talk of the town.

The tracks are becoming the biggest talking point in the Val di Fiemme competitions. On Friday, Finnish and international stars opened from the sprint track.

‘s expert Ville Nousiainen said that if he was almighty he would shoot that sprint track to the moon. On Saturday, Nousiainen also gave a complete crash on the track of the combined race.

– This track is very easy to start together. If this is skiing at the Olympics, then skiing with completely different characteristics than at the Olympic tours, Nousiainen said in the commentary, after 2.5 kilometers of the 20 kilometer race had been skied.

In Nousiainen’s opinion, the bends on the track were the only things that made the track difficult. According to Nousiainen, the heaviest part of the course could be seen practically after the first kilometer.

Exceptionally, the competition took place only on the side of the freestyle ski runs in Val di Fiemme. With both traditional and free skiing, only the same 3.3 kilometer loop was covered.

– At the end, there were some differences when there were 20 guys on the last climb. However, you have to remember that there are a lot of tired men at the Tour de Ski. In the competition, some of the men would not ski this in the prestige competitions. With all the best in the mix, will they be able to get the differences? It can be like this and like this. Goes to work, Nousiainen described.

In them, like on Saturday, it is superior John Hösflot Kläbo. Nousiainen described that in this type of competition, Kläbo is extremely good at landings and it is difficult to beat him.

– This track is like it was made for Kläbo, Nousiainen stated in the commentary room already in the middle of the race.

– He is such a skilled calculator and optimizes everything in competitions like this.

The positive side is that only that one run of the future Olympic tracks of the normal distance was in use. There should be more difficult routes on the side of traditional skiing when they become available.

Aftonbladet by now the Tour’s special solution concerns the fact that the land owner has not given permission to use the loop of the traditional skiing method. According to FIS, neither they nor the race organizers have been able to do anything about it.

According to Nousiainen, Val di Fiemme does have the potential to build heavy tracks for the Olympics. He hopes that the Olympics will see even harder tracks on normal trips.

– I have talked with the teams and especially with the Finnish team, the big teams are under pressure. They would like harder courses so that different skiers can do well in sprints and normal distances. They wouldn’t all have to be the same mass. Let’s see if there will be a change. This is now too easy a track especially for men, Nousiainen said.

Ruuskasen has a confusing problem

Arsi Ruuskanen was 23rd as the best Finn. He considered his ranking disappointing. Ruuskanen was 1 minute and 7.1 seconds behind. Ruuskanen was especially upset about the ski change that went wrong.

– I fell too far in that. With those movable bandages, it was open. I don’t know why. If I had gone skiing, the ski could have left my leg. When you noticed that, the palette got messed up. There was an emergency. I couldn’t get the skis on normally, Ruuskanen described.

The biggest question mark after the day’s competition was Lauri Mountainous. He was 44th, 3 minutes and 55.7 seconds off the lead. Vuori has been sticky on normal trips on the Tour anyway. In Saturday’s combined race, Vuorinen kiri still scored a few sprint points at the start.

– Is it worth continuing this Tour anymore? The investments have fallen to a worse level all the time. He has been in good health. He probably doesn’t have anything earth-shattering yet, but a little Huili and a training session would probably make a difference now, Urheilu’s skiing experts Aino-Kaisa Saarinen evaluate in the Sports Studio.

Finland’s head coach Teemu Pasane confirmed that Vuorinen is already showing fatigue at the Tour.
