Finland’s flag women suffered a 12-54 loss to Germany in their last group game of the World Cup on Wednesday night in Lahti.
Despite the 12–54 defeat of the flag women, the Finns were the last team to join the top 16 countries.
Finland was responsible for the points in the final match of the group stage Tiia Jansen with his two touchdowns.
The top three from each of the five initial groups of the women’s tournament made it to fight for the medals.
In addition, the best team from the group, which was Finland in the tournament, was able to participate.
The women’s matches continue immediately on Thursday with the playoffs, where Finland’s opponent will be the tournament’s number one ranked USA. The match will be played in the morning at 8 o’clock.
In the Flag Ball World Cup tournament, all rankings are decided by playing, so even the losers of the matches continue their games until the end.
