Finland reached the World Championship place in pair curling

Markus Sipilä and Lotta Immonen defeated Latvia in the decisive World Cup qualifying match.

Finland will be able to participate in next spring’s World Championships in pair curling. Markus Sipilä and Lotta Immonen beat Latvia 9–6 in the decisive qualifying match.

Thanks to the victory, Finland also got a place in the Olympic qualifiers, which will be played in December 2025.

The race ticket tasted especially good, because Immonen had anterior cruciate ligament surgery four months ago.

– In terms of rehabilitation, it was about the days that Lotta got fit to play, Sipilä commented in the press release.
